Toby started playing the ukulele when he was 5 years old and graduated to acoustic guitar at 8. He started playing in church when he around 11 years, helping his dad lead worship. Around this time, he was given an electric guitar and has been playing ever since! In high school, he was in an original band and an oldies cover band. During college, Toby and his friends formed a band called Jackson Waters and toured regionally until they signed a record deal with Word Records. They dropped out of school and moved to Nashville, TN to play music full-time.

Jackson Waters didn't last, but doors continued to open for Toby to play and tour with other artists. For the next two years, Toby hit the road with a group called NEEDTOBREATHE. Following that, he's been blessed to play guitar and band lead for CCM artist Jeremy Camp for the past 12 years. Toby says, "I love it! I am so thankful to call this my job. I love performing and leading worship with Jeremy and I also love to record on peoples' records, helping bring their songs to life! Check out Jeremy Camp's website for tour dates and come say hi at a show!"

Toby has relationships with these awesome companies: Veritas Guitars, LSL Instruments, Mallorie Handbuilt Guitars, Tyler Amps, D'Addario strings, and JHS Pedals.

ABOUT

I was born in Japan as a missionary kid! I LOVE sushi (really anything with rice). I am a massive Kansas Jayhawks mens basketball fan. At 39 years old I can still dunk a basketball...we'll see what happens when I turn 40. I am happily married and have 3 wonderful kids. I enjoy riding my motorcycle on a fresh autumn day. I'm enthusiastic about a great cup of coffee.
