MVP23 ToneX Captures by John Meding

This Premium ToneX Capture Pack from John Meding features detailed amp-only captures of his Morgan™ MVP23 combo amp, a handwired, all-tube amplifier that blends classic American clean tones with smooth British-style overdrive. With its EL84 power section and unique phase inverter, the MVP23 is known for its dynamic response and pedal-friendly voicing, making it a flexible choice for both studio and live guitarists.

This collection includes both clean and drive captures, showcasing the MVP23’s tonal versatility, from warm, articulate cleans with plenty of headroom to edge-of-breakup grit with rich harmonic texture. Each preset is paired with a stock 2x12 Blue IR, featuring a digital blend of mic models inspired by the SM57 and R-121, but the real flexibility comes from swapping in your own IRs or cabinet captures to tailor the sound to your rig.

Every capture was dialed in with input trim set to 7.0 on the ToneX™, ensuring optimal gain staging and a mix-ready tone that works across genres and setups.

Whether you’re layering parts in the studio, crafting a stereo rig for live performance, or building a dynamic pedalboard-friendly platform, these captures deliver professional-grade tone with maximum flexibility.
