Preset Details
Ambient Reverb and Delay
This is my desert island H90 preset and I use it all the time. The ambient reverb sits so perfectly in the mix without overshadowing your playing. Add in the delay for a perfect ambient wash for swells or the end of a song. I like bypassing the reverb and letting the trails ring out for a transition between songs.
Long Delays
This is my bread and butter longer delay patch, perfect for leads. You can stack the delays for a cool rhythmic effect. I use this on our tunes “Stand By You” and “The Ceiling.”
Leslie and Slap Delay
Another absolute go-to effect in the H90 for my work with The Wild Feathers. I use this patch quite frequently live on songs like “Hard Times” and “Kitchen Breeze,” and I used it in the studio on the bridge of our tune “Goodnight.”
Classic Country Phaser and Slap
Phaser and slapback—the perfect duo for all of your classic country twang! I use this patch on our song “LA Makes Me Sad” for the outro solo.
Reverse Reverse
Reverse delay AND reverb for when you really need to get out there. This is another great patch for letting the final chords of a song ring out into chaos.
12 String and Spring
I came up with this preset when we were recording the song “Longshot.” I like that it’s not a perfect recreation of a 12-string—way funkier and glitchy. This is a cool texture for an arpeggio part.
Pitch Vibrato
Like many guitar players in my lane, I’m a big fan of the classic Boss VB-2. I leave mine at home now and made this patch, which features a slow and fast setting that you can use independently or stack.
Simple Delay and Verb
This is a great basic bread-and-butter delay and verb that works with just about anything. This is designed to be sort of an “always on” setting if you’re not using the H90 for any special effects at the time.
B3 Organ
Inspired by the classic pairing of POG and rotary, this is a really cool approximation of getting a Hammond organ-type sound with your guitar. Pro tip: experiment with rolling back the tone on your guitar and using a volume pedal to get even closer to the sound and feel of a B3. And work that slow/fast speed!
Tape Flange
This is a fun classic rock–inspired tape flange and delay that I love kicking on during songs like “Backwoods Company” for that ’70s thing. Even used briefly, it can add a really cool Zeppelin-esque moment to a song.
Univibes
Another pedal that I adore and can’t fit on my pedalboard anymore is a Univibe. Like the pitch vibrato setting, there is a slow and fast setting that you can use independently or stacked for maximum wobble.
Spaghetti Western
Everyone needs a good spring verb and trem twang patch. Perfect for that surfy spaghetti western thing.
Art Deco
Inspired by one of my favorite tape preamp delay pedals, this is a cool retro-sounding patch I use for the old Les Paul and Chet Atkins tones.
Ain’t Looking
As you could probably figure out by the title, this is the patch I used in the studio and live on our tune “Ain’t Looking.” I use the phaser throughout the song (most prominently on the bridge), and I kick in this octave effect towards the end of the solo. You could use it on any rockier lead for something bold and expressive.
Schmo
One of my favorite pairings ever—the Eventide Micropitch and Tri-Stereo Chorus. Great for that ’80s grease!
