Angelic Duo
A grand piano and a toy piano mixed together. The grand gives excellent low end and the dolceola adds high pitched percussive elements. I love using this one live in massive moments where I want that slight punch to make sure I am not getting lost in the mix. I also love using this patch for melodies with lots of movement.
C7 Grand
This is my main piano. The most versatile and well rounded piano I have in my tool belt. It is very responsive dynamically so it can be used in low and big moments.
Celest
I usually layer this patch with either a synth or another piano. It adds that ethereal vibe when layered but also its quite beautiful on it’s own and can be inspiring in that space.
DBL Felt
Now I know felted pianos are over used and a bit worn out over the past few years and I try to not lean on them too much. This patch might be the exception for me. It isn’t too muted or too dark and is very responsive dynamically. Stand alone its a home run. I love how intimate it feels. This patch also works well in lower to medium dynamics without getting lost.
Dream Piano
This quirky combination of layers is very fun to use for quick poppy melodies and ear candies on the production side. As the name implies, it is also a great ambient/atmospheric tool to have in the belt for creative moments on the live side.
Electric
Give me the cheese! This warm and bright patch is a combo of two great electric pianos with lots of chorus and tremolo. Great if you wanna bring that retro feel into a moment. Or adjust your playing style and bring pure vibes.
MKS-20
Similar to the Electric patch in the fact that it is 80’s inspired, but the MKS-20 brings some extra sparkle in the high end making it really great for melodies, lead lines and faster playing.
Mono CP70
In your face and aggressive with the mono feel. I love whipping this patch out to bring some creativity into a space where everything is so stereo. It is kinda squishy and not super pretty but that is what I love
about it.
Wing Upright
This is probably my second or third most used piano. I find myself needing to use uprights quite often and this one is very versatile. It is nice and intimate in small moments but can still hang in the mid range when the band gets big. Be careful not to climb too high up the keyboard as this upright like to get a little twangy and brittle in the very high registers.
