Juno Bright Strings
This is one of my go-to sounds for big, open chorus and bridge sections of a song. I usually layer it under a piano and play diamonds on big chords, or use it on aux keys to fill out space and be the glue filling out any cracks in the band mix.
Juno Simple Arp
If I feel like the mix needs more rhythmic energy, I will often turn to this patch! I use it often when the electric guitars are playing more melodic parts instead of driving rhythm. It is often more felt than heard, but it can make a serious impact.
Juno Swell Brass
This is a spin-off take on one of my all-time favorite OB-6 patches. It can be very dynamic depending on how soft or hard you are playing. Often, I will run a huge reverb in parallel and it sounds absolutely massive.
Juno Warm Strings
A classic dark Juno sound with just the right amount of pitch warble. I use this when I want to sit behind the other band members in a mix and add a layer of richness.
Jupiter Bell Lead
If there's a plucky, staccato lead line in a song, chances are I'm using this patch for it. I love it as a lead, and it can work for chord stabs in a pinch as well.
Jupiter Brass
Another classic synth sound. I use this on songs that lean more into the funky space and during moments in church where I need to create that fun music bed. It's also great for layering with a piano patch!
Moog Arp
This is another arp that I use to create rhythm in a mix that may be lacking. It works great with the built-in latch feature in Omnisphere to bring rhythmic interest while keeping your hands free to play other parts.
Moog Desert
This patch reminds me of a certain sci-fi series set in a desert. I use it for creating cinematic and ambient sound environments. I love it so much that you'll find more variations on this sound further down the list.
Moog Spring
This patch is transposed an octave up from the regular playing range, which makes it a more delicate ambient patch. I use it for more sensitive, still moments and for creating cinematic, score-like musical pieces.
Moog Wide Bass
A classic Moog sound. This is my go-to patch for writing bass lines across all genres.
OB Clean Space
An ambient patch based on a classic Oberheim sound source. Only using one layer of sound, this one takes up less space in the mix than some of my other ambient patches.
OB Dreams
Another patch based on my favorite hardware synth, the OB-6. This patch has a good amount of pitch vibrato, which can add nice depth to a lacking mix. I love to use it on chords.
OB Massive
A powerful synth pad with a fast attack and a bright tone. This patch will cut all the way through a mix with its analog edge.
OB Punch
Pushing into the over compressed and tape saturated breakup zone, this patch has a whole lot of character. I use it for both chords and lead parts.
OB Ultimate Space
Based on the OB Clean Space patch, but with two more oscillators at different octaves that make this patch absolutely huge. Straight out of a Hans Zimmer score. This patch could be the whole song.
Plucked Sequencer
A mix of synthesized and plucked organic sounds. Use this when you don't have an acoustic guitar player to add that strummy edge to your band's sound.
Prophet Blowout
We've heard the Prophet V on countless worship records over the years. This is my take on the all-around Prophet pad that can make a mix shine. Run a long reverb in parallel to make this one really soar.
Prophet Crowns
My personal take on an iconic patch from one of my favorite bands. This patch is super rich and has an extremely long decay. I use this for songs that have lots of space in between chord changes. If you're less patient, use the mod wheel to open up the filter.
Prophet Mega Lead
My go-to legato lead sound. This one really soars, and often I'll use it to double the lead vocal melody on worship anthems.
Prophet Wide Stabs
This patch leans into the synth-pop zone. I love playing chord stabs with it!
