About these presets
Strymon TimeLine presets
Delay presets from the TimeLines of touring and session guitarists, the ones they run on stage and in the studio. Hear the demos before you buy.
This page lists 11 TimeLine packs from 10 players, and 2 of them are free. The players include Michael Pope (guitarist for TAYA), John Meding (guitarist for Red Rocks Worship), Jace Fay (guitarist for Thrive Worship), Daniel Carson (guitarist for Chris Tomlin), and Josh Aldrich (guitarist for Horizon Louange). The packs are made for the Strymon TimeLine.
Every pack’s page has audio demos, so you can hear the delays before you buy.
Strymon TimeLine presets, answered
Are these the presets the artists actually use?
Yes. Every pack is the player’s own delay presets from their own TimeLine, the ones they use on stage and in the studio. Your guitar, amp and room aren’t theirs, so treat each preset as a starting point, then set the tempo and mix for your songs.
How do I load TimeLine presets?
Strymon presets install over MIDI, not drag and drop. You need a USB MIDI interface and Strymon’s Nixie 2 or Nixie Legacy editor. Back up your pedal first, then import the pack’s .syx files and write them to the slots you want. Writing replaces the presets in those slots. Full steps are in our TimeLine guide, and a printable PDF of it is in every pack download.
Nixie 2 or Nixie Legacy?
Nixie 2 is Strymon’s newer editor, labeled a Public Beta, and it needs a current Mac or Windows 11. On an older computer, use Nixie Legacy, Strymon’s fully tested editor. Our TimeLine guide has the steps for both.
Why doesn’t Nixie see my pedal?
Plug-and-play MIDI cables usually fail. Strymon confirms the Roland UM-ONE MKII, iConnectivity MIO XC and Strymon Conduit. On a UM-ONE, TO MIDI IN goes to the pedal’s MIDI IN. I went through two cheap Amazon knockoff MIDI cables before I bought an interface Strymon recommends. Save the time and hassle. You’ll use it.
Do these work on the TimeLine MX?
No. Strymon confirmed original TimeLine presets can’t be loaded into the TimeLine MX, so these packs are for the original TimeLine.
Are there free Strymon TimeLine presets?
Yes. Stephen Thompson’s TimeLine presets are free, and so is Michael Pope’s Bethel Music Strymon Preset Collection, which also has BigSky presets and files formatted for the BigSky plugin. Both are marked Free in the grid above. You check out like any other product and the total reads $0.
Is the TimeLine still worth it?
I think so. I wrote about it, and four other delays, in The 5 Best Delay Pedals for Worship Guitar.
I run a Helix or Quad Cortex instead. Is there something for me?
Yes. Our players build for those too. See our Helix presets and Quad Cortex presets.
