Omnisphere presets, answered
Do Omnisphere 2 presets work in Omnisphere 3?
Yes. Our Omnisphere 2 packs work in Omnisphere 3 too, and you install them with the same steps as the Omnisphere 2 guide. Packs made in Omnisphere 3 need Omnisphere 3. They won’t open in Omnisphere 2.
How do I load Omnisphere 3 presets?
Back up your User folders first. Then open the Utility menu (the three-line button, upper left), choose Install .omnisphere and pick the .omnisphere file from your download. Use that file, not the loose .prt_omn files, because it carries every sound. Your new patches are under Sharing in the Patch browser’s Directory menu. Full steps are in our Omnisphere 3 guide.
How do I load Omnisphere 2 presets?
Copy the artist’s whole patch folder into STEAM/Omnisphere/Settings Library/Patches/User, click the circular Refresh arrow at the bottom of the Patch browser, then choose User from the Directory menu. The Omnisphere 2 guide shows where STEAM lives on a Mac and on Windows.
How do I load Keyscape presets?
Copy the artist’s patch folder into STEAM/Keyscape/Settings Library/Patches/User, keeping the patches inside their folder, then click Refresh and choose User at the top of the Browser. Some patches use keyboards that only come with the full Keyscape install, not Lite. Full steps are in our Keyscape guide.
Do I need to own Omnisphere or Keyscape?
Yes. These are presets, not the instruments themselves. Each pack needs your own licensed copy of the Spectrasonics instrument it’s made for, and the bundles also need the apps and plugins listed on their pages.
Are these the sounds the players actually use?
Every pack is built by the keys player whose name is on it. Solo Ray’s come straight from his live rig, and Michael Incavo’s are the patches he played onstage for three years. Your keyboard, room and mix aren’t theirs, so treat each one as a starting point.
Are these worship patches?
Many are. Andrew Sharp built his for the Sunday morning set at Church of the Highlands, and Christopher Wohrle plays keys for Bethel Music. Others are made to cross over: Michael Incavo’s patches fit worship sets, pop tracks and studio sessions alike. Hear the demos on each pack’s page to find your fit.
Can I use them in MainStage or Ableton Live?
Yes. Omnisphere and Keyscape presets work in any host that runs those plugins, MainStage and Ableton Live included. Todd Locke’s Omnisphere 2 pack also comes with Logic Pro and MainStage channel strip settings and patch files, and Christopher Wohrle’s Omnisphere 2 and Keyscape packs include an Ableton Live demo session.
