What’s the difference between a keys preset and a keys template?
A preset is one sound for one instrument or plugin. A template is a whole setup, with your routing, effects and sounds laid out so you can open it and play. Andrew Sharp’s Pro Keys Bundle includes his full Ableton Live keys template, and Todd Locke’s Logic & MainStage pack ships with patch files and channel strips you drop into your own setup.
Are there free worship keys presets?
Yes. Christopher Wohrle’s Ableton Stock Keys Presets are free and built only with Ableton Live’s stock plugins, so there’s nothing else to buy. The racks use Glue Compressor, so you need Live Standard or Suite, not Intro.
Will these work in MainStage?
The ones made for it will. Ableton racks and templates open in Ableton Live only. Todd Locke’s Logic & MainStage pack loads in Logic Pro or MainStage, and Omnisphere, Keyscape and Kontakt presets work in any host that runs those plugins, MainStage included.
Do I need to own the instrument or plugin?
Yes. These are presets, not the instruments themselves. You need your own copy of Omnisphere, Keyscape, Kontakt, Ableton Live, or Logic Pro and MainStage, or the hardware synth the pack is made for. A few packs also use third-party effect plugins, and each product page lists exactly what’s required.
Which Nord keyboards do the Nord presets work on?
Eric Barfield’s Nord pack is built for the Nord Stage 3 88, HP76 and Compact. Check the product page before loading it on anything else. The steps are in our Nord Stage 3 guide.
How do I load Omnisphere presets?
Every pack includes a step-by-step guide, and the same steps are on our site: Omnisphere 3, Omnisphere 2 and Keyscape.
