Are these the presets the artists actually use?
Yes. Every pack is made by the artist from their own rig, the sounds they use live and in the studio. Your guitar, pickups and room aren’t theirs, so treat each preset as a starting point and expect to tweak a few settings.
Are there free worship guitar presets?
Yes. Select artists give a pack away, and it’s marked Free in the grid above. You check out like any other product and the total reads $0.
Will BigSky and TimeLine presets load on the MX versions?
No. Strymon has confirmed that presets for the original BigSky and TimeLine can’t be loaded into the BigSky MX or TimeLine MX. Our Strymon packs are made for the originals.
How do I load Strymon presets?
Strymon presets aren’t drag and drop. You need a USB MIDI interface with its own driver and Strymon’s free Nixie 2 or Nixie (Legacy) app, and you should back up your pedal first. The first time I did it, I went through two cheap knockoff MIDI cables before I bought the Roland UM-ONE MKII that Strymon recommends. Save yourself the time and hassle. How do Quad Cortex presets arrive?
They’re shared to your Cortex Cloud account instead of downloaded. Follow thesoundshopco on Cortex Cloud, then type your exact Cortex Cloud username at checkout. They arrive in under an hour, usually faster, and usually in two to three minutes if you followed us before you bought. See the Quad Cortex guide.
Should I switch from a pedalboard to a modeler?
Only if it solves a real problem for you. My favorite tones have always come from pedals into an amp into good mics, and I still completely understand why one box wins so many stages: fewer cables, fewer things to fail, the same rig every night. We wrote about it in Helix vs a Strymon pedalboard.
